OMC Halcott Mtn./Spruceton Valley Tour
Sun. April 25th, Join OMC and NYS DEC guides to explore the Manitou Hassanash (spirit stones), effigies (serpents and turtles) and other features found on public lands in “Deep Clove” and Spruceton Valley.
Safe Covid-19 protocols will be followed (masks and 6′ social distancing).
We’ll meet at 9AM, in the parking lot of the Catskill Visitors Center on Rt. 28 in Mt. Tremper, before heading up to the Halcott Mountain site, and then on to Spruceton after. Total hiking is less than 2 miles on mixed terrain, though much is off trail on wet, uneven ground. Wear sturdy footwear, and dress for the forecast and an early spring walk in the woods. Bring water, lunch or snack. Event lasts from 9am to 3pm. Since on state lands, group size is limited. Please call 845 417 8384 to register. Ask about a possible camp-out option for Sunday night . Visit www.overlookmountain.org for more info.
Event is free, but donations are welcome.
